MINIGRAPH drives impact and future exploitation pathways at final General Assembly in Barcelona
26–27 May 2026, Barcelona (Spain)
The MINIGRAPH consortium convened in Barcelona for its final General Assembly on 26–27 May 2026, marking the transition from project execution to impact consolidation and future exploitation. Jointly hosted by ICN2 and INBRAIN Neuroelectronics at INBRAIN’s new offices in the DAU building, the meeting provided a forward-looking environment aligned with the project’s ambition to translate advanced neuroelectronic technologies toward real-world application.
Across the sessions, partners presented consolidated outcomes from all work packages, with particular emphasis on integrated system performance, validation results, and the maturity of key technologies. Discussions focused not only on the robustness and scientific value of the results, but also on their readiness for further development, clinical translation, and industrial uptake.
A significant portion of the agenda was dedicated to exploitation strategy and post-project continuity. Partners reviewed pathways for advancing MINIGRAPH technologies beyond the project, including potential clinical development steps, follow-up funding opportunities, intellectual property positioning, and alignment with industrial stakeholders. The consortium also discussed how individual components and know-how generated within the project could be leveraged across complementary initiatives and future collaborations.
In parallel, the meeting addressed dissemination outcomes and impact metrics, ensuring that key results are effectively communicated to scientific, clinical, and innovation ecosystems. Partners aligned on final messaging, publication strategies, and visibility actions to maximise the reach and uptake of project achievements.
The General Assembly also provided a structured reflection on lessons learned, particularly in relation to multidisciplinary integration, coordination across technological and preclinical domains, and the management of complex innovation pipelines. These insights contribute to strengthening future project design and enhancing the efficiency of collaborative research in the neurotechnology field.
Concluding the meeting, the consortium emphasised the tangible impact generated by MINIGRAPH, from technological advancements in minimally invasive neuroelectronics to strengthened collaboration across academia, clinical research, and industry. The Barcelona General Assembly marked not only the successful completion of the project, but also a decisive step toward the continued development, exploitation, and real-world application of its results.
